DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Sacramento

I booked months in advance and called directly instead of on line. I felt like I was talking to the front desk but could have been Hongkong? We went over specifics. I am handicapped and asked to be close to Lobby. My room was about as far from lobby as it could get. I was offered a view of the gardens but had a view of the parking lot. My AC vent rattled so loudly I could hear it before I entered the room. No chance of changing rooms as they were fully booked due to the event I was attending ( exactly why I booked ahead). Staff was great and facilities were clean and comfortable. Too bad I had dissapointments with promised arrangements.

A fine experience. However the room did smell very heavily of cleaning product which was a bit overwhelming when first arriving. The AC was not very efficient and did not keep up with how hot it was outside. There was an event occurring nearby so it was very loud and I could hear cars, motorcycles etc. coming in and out of the parking lot all night and into the morning. A good hotel for stopping through on a road trip but I would not recommend for a more relaxing experience.

This hotel has potential to be great, but there’s some logistics issues preventing it from being my top choice in the Sacramento area. I checked in online with the idea that I wouldn’t have to go to the front desk. But when I arrived in the lobby I realized I had no clue where my room was, the hotel is a big property and has several wings that are a lengthy walk from the lobby. Some signage in the main lobby would really help this. The front desk did have maps, and mistake 1 for me was not asking for a physical key before departing to my room. I made the trek down and my digital key didn’t work. No biggie, that happens. I trekked back to the lobby and the other front desk clerk was a little less than warm (but not rude, just felt a little imposed upon) and provided me with a physical key. I trekked back and this key didn’t not work either. So now I’m a little frustrated but kept my cool and came back to the lobby. The clerk was a little warmer this time when she saw me back for a third time. She moved me to a different room and gave me a different key. That one worked. Unfortunately it was a hot day and my troubles persisted from there. The room was very hot. I turned on the AC u

Don’t be afraid to book- it’s great! I booked this hotel the night prior to attending a baseball game in Sacramento. I read the reviews afterwards and I was concerned. Remember that typically only people who have negative experiences post reviews. This is a very large property. Most just don’t take the time. I work in travel and wanted to share that I felt the hotel was clean, nicely renovated, well staffed and served a great breakfast. We checked out the pool and hot tub and those also seemed perfectly fine and working well. All of the staff we encountered were friendly. This hotel is a great value in the area! I booked directly with the property and received no special deals- I just felt it was unfair to them that all of the reviews I saw were so negative.
